Catching up with our Interns

We launched our pilot Early Careers Programme in January 2023 to give young people a headstart in their career regardless of their background and to build their understanding of the world of work, whether that’s the different communication tools we use, strategies for problem solving or presenting ideas and projects.

Building rapport as a group makes learning refreshing, rewarding and reflective – helping us build better relationships, teamwork and motivation. So, keeping in touch is a key part of our programme. Recently, we spent the day with our interns to reflect on experiences and hear what everyone’s been up to (you can see more about how it went via our TikTok).

We came together to discuss self-advocacy at work, revisit our goals, polish our CVs and catch up on how everyone’s doing. We covered key skills for managing difficult conversations at work, how to advocate for what we need from our employers, and shared our goals for the final few months of the programme.

All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy, so we ended the day with a trip to All Stars Holborn for some bowling – which was filled with laughs and friendly fire competition.

It was great to spend the day reflecting on experiences and setting goals together. Cheers to all the memories made!
